April Case Law Update

Our friend, Samuel Partida Jr., has posted the April case law update.  If you’re not familiar with Mr. Partida’s blog, he posts the most important criminal cases in Illinois each month.  By following the link to his blog, you’ll see that Mr. Partida gives a detailed summary of each case with a link to the full case as well.  You also have the option of listening to the case list with commentary via podcast found on his website, illinoiscaselaw.com.  We here at lauralaw could not be more thankful to Mr. Partida for this excellent resource that we enjoy each and every month and love to share with our readers.  April is ”sex case” month so a majority of the cases discussed involved cases related to crimes of a sexual nature.  There are also cases that question whether defendants can be shackled in court, cases that involve DUI appeal, and issues relating to gun charges.

Make sure to stay tuned to our blog, and check back later today, as we post about an important case involving First Amendment rights.  As always if you have any questions regarding these cases or any others, don’t hesitate to contact us and one of our skilled attorneys will be happy to assist you.
