As we set off to a weekend of BBQ, fireworks, and (believe it or not, working on cases), we found an interesting article on DNA Info about the legality of fireworks.  Reader’s Digest version:  stay away from the amateur pyrotechnics (yes, even sparklers) and stick to the party poppers, smoke bombs, snakes, snappers, and fountain sprays.  As the article notes, though – you can get a license to launch and the colorful world of fireworks is your oyster.
